Common questions
How do I know it's the encoder and not the HDMI port?
You mostly can't from outside — that's what the diagnostic is for. Rough guide: damaged or loose port = port; clean port but no signal anywhere = likely encoder. Either way you only pay for the fault you actually have.

Yes. The repair is on your original board, so storage, saves and licences are all untouched.
How long does it take?
